We got under way on Monday morning after fueling up and pumping out.  We were happy that "Release" is along with us for a few days.  We sailed towards the eastern shore of the Chesapeake to the Choptank River up Tred Avon and made our way on past Oxford, MD to a very nice quiet anchorage on Trippe Creek.  It was a good day of sailing, finally dropped anchor at 5:30 pm.  Ken, Francie, and Skipper came over for the evening for dinner.

The next morning we did a little exploring further up Tred Avon under sail at first and then had to do some motoring.  We ended going out Tred Avon then up Broad Creek to as far north as we could go on San Domingo Creek which is a place to access what the call the back door to St. Michaels, Md. Only one other boat anchored here so once again very quiet peaceful spot a few fishing boats pass by here.  I went in with Skipper, Ken and Francie for a walk, beautifully manicured well kept homes, Ken managed to immediately home in on a local brew pub with AC, great find great beer.  Had a nice evening dinner on board "Release" discussing our plans for the next day.

Wed. morning we all piled into the dinghy with Ken, Francie, and Skipper and explored St. Michaels for the morning. We really like this community, we were able to see some interesting boats just outside the Maritime Museum but did not have the time to go in as we would have needed a full day for that.  Below are some photos of our morning venture in St. Michaels:

We pulled anchor mid-day having to motor sail enroute for the western shore and found another nice anchorage in Rhode River, 3 other boats in the anchorage which was plenty large.  This was the last evening together with "Release" as they were headed to a marina the next day to have their boat pulled for some bottom work done.  I had found the last of our conch in the freezer and enjoyed "conch stew" and Francie had some shrimp to add to it and it came out perfect.  Really enjoyed their company and look forward to them catching up with us soon.

Thurs. we decided we liked the anchorage enough to stay put for a day and do a little exploring by dinghy, Fri morning headed north to Annapolis.  We picked up a mooring with the plan of staying 3 nights.  We enjoyed catching up with Marty and Gabrielle from "Santosha", they are landlubbers now.  Marty was kind enough to chauffeur us around to marine stores and shopping, it was great seeing them again. 

We have done some exploring with the dinghy while here and toured through the Naval Academy.  Last night we had a meal with Gil and Diana whom we have not seen since we headed south over a year and a half ago. It was great catching up with them as well.  Today we are headed a bit north to the Magothy River an the western shore to a small Island called Dobbins Island, at least that is the plan anyways.
