Stan's root canal and crown is complete and we are leaving this morning. Stan has gone off to get the "Port Captain" to search our boat and then we get our despacho to leave. There will be about 6 foot seas and diminishing as the days go on until Sat. when there is another front coming in. Winds are supposed to be around 15 kts out of the east to start and diminishing along with the seas, hopefully we can sail a good portion of this trip but undoubtedly we will need to motor some, hopefully not so much that we have to stop in Samana, DR for fuel. We hope for a safe passage.
"Plane to Sea" met with a very unfortunate incident as part of the group that left last week, they were hit by a freighter at 2:00 am in the Mona Passage, it dismasted their boat and took out their side rails, with the exception of a cut on Don's foot they were safe and the boat did not leak, they are very lucky. The Coast Guard was nearby along with a couple of other boats they were sailing with, the freighter in question was not using lights and did not respond to radio calls, they probably were smuggler's.
Stan finally cut my hair as it was really getting ridiculous, he did a great job.
We did some projects and a lot of reading since the last post but did not do any traveling due to the multiple dentist appointments. I helped out Dave and Linda on "Wayward Wind" with some pumping problems and educated them on how to rebuild their macerator pump when they get a kit. They were grateful for the assistance and took us out for a wonderful fish dinner.
